It’s about that time. Spooky Season is coming to the Author Podcast Show and it’s my favorite! So, in honor of Spooky Season, I’d like to feature several writers and their unique horror stories on my podcast show. Below is the criteria and submission guidelines!
Criteria
Short stories only! I’d love to read your full length novel. However, I have a limited time to do my podcast shows. Each story should be between 2,000 and 7,000 words in length.
The genre is horror, and most anything goes. Rampant serial killers, psychos, monsters, and ghosts are all acceptable! Make it suspenseful and spooky or wicked and shocking.
Please refrain from topics of sexual assault or excessive, unnecessary violence. Swear words are acceptable in moderation.
Published and unpublished stories are accepted. You’ll retain all the rights to your stories. This is strictly a promotional series for new and seasoned writers.
All submissions should be in English. Please, polish your work!
Submissions are open from August 11th, 2021 to September 6th, 2021!
Submission Guidelines
All submissions are to be sent to my email at authorlaureneason@gmail.com as a word document. Please place in the subject line “SHORT HORROR STORY” so I can easily identify your submission. Here’s what to place in the body of your email:
- Name or Pen Name
- Title of your work
- Short synopsis of your story
- Social media links
- Other works by you so I can promote you!
Word document format:
- 12 pt. font/Times New Roman
- 1″ margins
- Double Spaced
- Paragraph indentation of 0.5
